monaamy began with a friendship and a shared love for clothes with character: pieces shaped by craft, made to be lived in, and chosen for the way they make you feel.
We are Monobina and Amruta. From India to Brussels and back again, we bring our own perspectives to a shared idea: that the beauty of Indian craft belongs in the everyday.

Tradition, with room to become your own
India’s textiles and techniques have always held our attention. The rhythm of ajrakh, the quiet detail of bandhani, the softness of kantha, the history held in a well-loved cloth. We return to these traditions with curiosity, looking for ways to bring them into shapes that feel personal, easy to wear, and entirely their own.
Some pieces begin with a textile. Others with a detail, a colour, or a garment we can’t stop thinking about. Each one grows from that first point of interest into something to wear and make your own.

We work in small batches, bringing together considered silhouettes, distinctive textiles and details that reward a closer look. Our collections may include handworked techniques, familiar Indian fabrics and vintage cloth, each chosen for the feeling and story it brings to a piece.
We like clothes that invite a second look, but feel natural once you put them on. Pieces with presence, made to find their place in your wardrobe and become part of your own story.

We started monaamy as two friends who wanted to make something that felt close to home and open to the world. We wanted to create clothes that carried the richness of the craft we love, while feeling at ease in the lives we lead now.
